Of course, hearing how some people's words suffered from horrific and devastating plagues, Hannibal wondered if they hadn't unleashed the early stages of some sort of virus that would mutate to kill humans. Hooray science?

"Too smart for me," Mac says, shaking her head. "I don't do things with science and numbers. I have to count on my fingers, for god's sakes. But there are other things I am infinitely more talented at and for this, we are grateful."

Mac knows her particular set of skills isn't of much use to the island, though, and that may be bothering her as much as Will's stupid ring. It doesn't matter. She straightens her shoulders and decides she will have a good time tonight with a man who is inexplicably interested in her and she's not going to think about everything else.

"I think we need to get where we're going, though. I believe I owe you a show."

"I wasn't exactly the brains of the operation," Hannibal admitted. Not that anyone would probably think that he was, but it was good to be honest. And he liked the idea of her being infinitely more talented at things, even if she didn't necessarily mean sex. But he hoped she meant sex.

"I was more the mouth. Speaking of which, it's a show now?"

"Well, I guess it could be a show," Mac says, shrugging slightly. Poor choice of words on her part but now she's gotten herself into it.

"You're probably going to be a hell of a lot more interesting to look at than I am, though. Seriously, how do you have that body? Protein bars and vampire hunting?"

"I think you're underselling yourself just a bit. Pretty sure you're way the hell more interesting to talk to," Hannibal said. He had only talked to her just this once and he thought she was pretty interesting.

"Honestly? I don't even work out. I actually had super strategic liposuction."

"Mmm, yes, the secret of the stars," Mac teases, laughing at that.

"I should have really looked into that before I decided to show up on a tropical island where everyone is ridiculously attractive and younger than me. Mostly. There's a few older."

"I really doubt you're that much older, if older at all, than most people here," Hannibal said as they headed into the caverns from the compound.

That age reasoning wasn't even counting the vampires and other shit that lived in this place that were hundreds, if not thousands, of years old.

"Personally, I'm only 33. Spending five years as an undead vampire may have given me a leg up on the aging."

"Ah, I'm 35. Of course, I am also no longer undead so perhaps that leaves me well-preserved," she deadpans.

"It does murder on your skin."

For a brief moment Hannibal thought about the giant age gap between one of the last times he saw a woman's breasts and this time and then stopped, because he had been dumb and didn't like thinking about that. He'd rather think about how MacKenzie seemed to be pretty awesome and he had superb judgement this time. Which was unusual for him.

"I'm digging your current state of preservation," Hannibal told her before peeling off his shirt as they neared the hot springs. "You are a superb vintage. Insert your own joke about wanting to sample your flavor."

"Mmm, I can think of a few," Mac says, following suit and pulling at the buttons on her own blouse. She's still just drunk enough to be uninhibited and she hopes it lasts because the feeling is so, so nice. The current view is also very nice and Mac wonders what lottery she's just hit.

"I really must be completely wasted because you are fucking gorgeous."

Hannibal was never sure how to respond to compliments like that, he'd much rather talk about how awesome his partner was. Let them deal with how to deal with shit like that. Not that he wasn't grateful, he just wasn't sure how to take it.

"You had better take advantage then before you sober up," he said, starting to undo his pants. "Wouldn't want to regret not doing something while I looked gorgeous."

"Oh my God, like you don't know," Mac says, utterly incredulous. She watches him for a moment, then starts pulling at her own clothes to get them off. It's not particularly graceful, but it gets the job done, and she's thanking all the deities she can that she had the foresight to swipe condoms from the Compound before coming out here.

"I win. I'm completely naked."

"What the fuck do I say to that though?" He said with a laugh. Damn if she wasn't really fucking observant. That was annoying and interesting. "Staying alive necessitates I work out."

Once she declared she was naked though, he could care less about being galled out. She may not be a super model but MacKenzie McHale was no slouch.

"Pretty sure if you're naked then I'm winning."

He did hustle to get the rest of his clothes off though, baring everything from his semi-hard cock to the Hello Kitty tattoo on his ass.

"Men who are as attractive as you tend to know it and are used to compliments. You're an anomaly," Mac decides. She also decides that she doesn't fucking care about being smart anymore because right now, she's just looking to have fun.

"Now. You owe me. Twinge in the neck," Mac says, tapping lightly against the body part in question.

"People generally are repulsed by my personality," he said, which was partly true. They were usually just put off.

"And in to the water. You have to get the full experience," Hannibal said, even as he moved behind her and placed his hands on her shoulders.

"It is not the easiest personality but I'm a big girl, I've handled much worse," Mac says, grinning at him before getting into the water.

"It's somewhat refreshing."

"See? I have really, really good ideas," he said, slipping into the water behind her. Reaching out, he began to press his thumbs along her shoulder and up into her neck.

"Fuck, you are tense."

"I've been tense since I was thirty. Never changes," Mac admits. Her voice is softer now because it does feel good and she desperately needs this massage.

"Oh my god."

"Now would be a good time to start to relax," he said, thumbs working a bit harder to loosen up he knots in her neck. Running a news network must have been a really fucking tense job if she was still tight after the island.

"You're naked in a hot spring on a tropical island. Time to let shit go."

"Completely zen," Mac promises, shutting her eyes and just enjoying herself.

"Just hard to let everything go when I've been wound so long."

"We will definitely work on unwinding you," Hannibal reassured her, moving one of his hands a bit further down to her shoulderblades.

"Just tell me where all the winding is."

"Mmm, neck, shoulders, back...pick a place and I can promise it'll feel good," Mac says, determined to just enjoy herself.

"I owe you for this, you know. Name your price."

"Oh, yeah, getting to touch your naked body is such a chore," Hannibal said, rolling his eyes a bit at the idea that he's not already getting something out of this.

"And I though I got a show, that was the deal."

"There is that," Mac agrees. "But if you wanted a little more, I wouldn't say no to that either. If you're interested?"

"I think I'm definitely interested," he said, hands moving down from her neck to her back, his fingers kneading deeply into the muscles there as he scooting forward so she could feel just how interested he was pressing into her.
