Mac has never been a sound sleeper since being embedded. Two years in a war zone made her wary of every footfall and every noise tends to rouse her. Worse still is the fact that she's not used to sharing a bed with anyone on a regular basis and this has become a bit of a learning curve.

She wakes up in a cold sweat yet again, heart racing. She rolls her eyes, completely annoyed with herself, and brushes a hand against Jackson's shoulder. "Sorry. Bad dream. Did I wake you?"

Mac's breath catches lightly when the angle changes and she slides her hand down his back to grab his ass. "Jackson, Christ...feels too good."

He huffs out a laugh against her jaw.

"Could always..." His breath catches. "Always tell me to stop."

"Stop and I'll kill you," Mac says, tipping her head back a little. "God, I love what you do to me."

He loves the way her mouth quirks for emphasis, wonders if she even realises that she's doing it. He presses a kiss against the point of her chin. "You bring out the best in me."

"All your secret kinky fantasies?" Mac teases, arching up against him. "You can do anything you want to me. I won't say no. You know that."

"Ain't nothin' secret about them, darlin," he says, his hand tight on her thigh to hold it there as he rocks into her, taking it easy, taking it slow. "And I like that you're into it, but that...ain't all it is, either."

Mac sighs softly. "What is it, then?" It's a strange conversation to have during sex but it's slow and easy and almost more of a conversation than anything else.

"It's you, goddamnit," he breathes, getting closer and closer, no matter how slow they're going. "You have to see that, Mac."

"Uh huh," Mac whimpers softly. "Close now, so close." She tilts her hips up against him, trying to get friction.

He's not convinced by 'uh huh', but he's got too much to think about, too much to distract. He shifts, pushing up on one hand so that he can get the other between them, rubbing over her clit to give her that last little push. IT has the distinct advantage of letting him look right down into her face as he does it.

"Fuck," Mac hisses. It's enough to knock her over the edge and she grips his hip tightly, afraid she's going to leave a mark.

He wouldn't give a shit if she did leave a mark. Why would he? It only takes another couple of thrusts for him to come inside her, face pressed into the crook of her neck as he does.

Mac strokes his skin lightly, trying to catch her breath. "Oh God, you're good. We're good together."
