It's been a strange few days. Mac woke up to the island gone completely mad, with people changing ages and sexes and her own boyfriend had been a girlfriend and there was some strange fluidity in her sexual orientation that was more than a little unsettling.

Still, it's worked out so far and while she misses being with Jackson as she knows him, she isn't exactly going to break up with him (her?) over the lack of a penis. She'll just have to get used to life without it, if the island doesn't revert back to normal.

Right now, she's settled in bed with a book on current foreign policy; it's a new one by Vali Nasr that isn't even published yet when she's from and it's fascinating. She's making notes all in the margins and pities the poor soul who wants to read it afterward.

Then again, there are few on the island as passionate and nerdy about Middle Eastern diplomacy than she is.

The words she uses are unfamiliar, but it makes him think of Rose, and how they rescued her. But this would be different, wouldn't it? It'd be him and her, everyone safe and cared for.

"Record us doing what? What's your dirtiest fantasy, Mac?"

"I'm not that creative," Mac says, blushing a little bit. "But if you wanted to tie me up and gag me or something, we could record it and you'd have it for later to watch when I'm too big to contemplate that?"

"You make it sound like I'm not going to be interested in you," he points out, stroking his hand over her skin. "That's not going to be the case, Mac. I swear that to you."

"But what if you don't like it? It's not like I can do anything to change the fact that I'm pregnant now and I don't..." Mac sighs a little.

"Jackson, I don't want to get hurt."

"I don't see any way I can prove this to you right now," he says, eyes fixed firmly on her face. "But...you say you've feelins for me? And I am not running from that, Mac. I'm right here. And that means the baby too, not just the sex."

"I don't expect you to help me with the child...to be a parent. If you want to, I graciously accept, but I don't expect it. It's not a condition of being with me," Mac assures him.

They always seem to end up having these conversations naked, and Jackson's more than used to it by now.

"I don't know what kind of parent I could claim to be, but I'm here for whatever you need me to be. Seems to me that if in it for you, I've got to be in for the baby, too."

"Nikola did not take kindly to my changing the arrangement," Mac says, a little embarrassed about bringing this up. "He seems to think it's unfair that I'd rather be with you."

"You need me to get involved?" he asks, eyebrows raised. Because, for her, he would. "Mac, I want this. Believe me, it ain't in my nature to go through any motions."

"Not as of yet," Mac assures him. "I don't think he'll come kidnap me or anything, he just seems to think it's selfish of me to want someone to be with me and only me because it inconveniences him."

"Screw him, then," says Jackson, grinning up at her. "And here we are."

"And here we are," Mac agrees. "So what did you want to do with me?"

"Everything I can," he says, grinning. "If it's for posterity, and all."

"Oh, right, the camera. Let me get it," Mac says, getting up to pull the damned thing out. She has a tripod, as well, and thanks the powers that be that let her keep all this equipment from when the island was New York.

"Just give me a moment to set everything up. Did you want me to teach you how?"

"Yeah," he says, shifting to the end of the bed. He's not as good with this new technology as Reid is, but he's always found it fascinating. "Show me."

"All right, well, this is the power button, which turns it on. This is the zoom, which will let you focus? This camera has it's own mic, so we won't have to worry about sound, and this is the viewing screen. When we've actually done it, I can put it on my computer and you can watch it there. I can probably edit it as well, take out some of the background noise and sharpen the picture."

This is a very simple explanation but Mac knows she's far too knowledgeable about this shit and she doesn't want to bore him. "It's precisely what I used to use to shoot video in the field. This is much higher quality than what you'd see in an amateur film, usually."

"Alright," he says, nodding and loving how capable she sounds when she talks about this. "I think I'm following."

"Why don't you set up a shot while I go get on the bed for you?" Mac says, smiling a little and leaning in to kiss his cheek.

"Get me in frame, press the red button and then we'll be live."

"Alright," he says, and it takes a lot of concentration, but, eventually, he has the camera lined up, focused and ready, waiting for her to be in position before he presses record.

Mac blows him a kiss, looking (and feeling) utterly ridiculous. "Am I in frame, honey? Or do I need to move?"

"You're in frame and...you're focused," he says, proud of himself for using the words in a way that he thinks is correct. "Now you need to arrange yourself."

"How do you want me?" This is strangely erotic to her and Mac is proud of herself for coming up with something she likes that Jackson also seems to be interested in. Maybe she's not so boring after all.

"You choose," he says, still standing behind the camera watching her. "I'm going to move you soon anyhow."
